Wall Pieces

These Wall Pieces are a combination of simple, geometric shapes mixed with complex patterns and themes. I have tried to take a "painterly" approach to the wall pieces while adding the three-dimensionality available with ceramics. "Painterly" in terms of colors, themes, abstraction, symbolism, working from a "canvas" and painting "techniques" (brushwork, blending, etc.). Three-dimensionality in terms of multiple levels within a single piece, holes, cut-outs, depressions, textures and not limiting the "canvas" to a rectangle. I have also mixed the hard-lines of geometry, architecture, mechanics with organic shapes, imperfect lines and circles, balanced but not mirrored connections between sections.
